Submission Guidelines
We accept queries for original, unpublished submissions all year but limit publication to twice a year. Please send a query before submitting any work. We are always interested in new book reviews of a scholarly nature (600 words or less), and will consider creative work as well (limit: 3 poems/person; 1 creative essay of no more than 750 words/person). Because we are more than the sum of our academic parts, recipes and trivia may also be considered, as well as select editorials--please query first. If you are a NYCEA member who has Kudos! to announce or news to report, please direct your information to the email below. Thank you!
Query responses are within 6-8 weeks. If your query has been accepted, submit your work in-text of an email containing your name, affiliation, member status, email, and other contact information in an email directed to the address below.
When sending a query, please put "NYCEA QUERY" in the subject line of your email--thanks!
